At the inauguration, the Rector of the University received the referees of the matches, the organizers, and the teams participating in the qualifiers and assured them of creating conditions to ensure perfect participation. He said that it is an honor for us at Thamar University to be among the students of the University and its sons, these outstanding teams in the sports field, as well as distinguished in the scientific and academic fields. He added we are counting on you to raise the name of the University High in the competitions and the final qualifiers in the capital Sana'a and to create glory for your University, as your colleagues have done in previous years, adding that the team of any College that wins in the qualifiers represents Thamar University and a gain for it. From his part, Dr. Al-Rifai stressed his confidence in the sports team this year and the special efforts exerted by the leadership of the colleges to be a reason to achieve better results than previous years, wishing success and repayment to all participating teams. From his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Informatics, Prof. Dr. Bashir Al-Maqaleh thanked the Rector of the University and praised the sports spirit and his interest in activities and competitions. He reviewed the College of Computing football team and briefed him on the preparations, including equipping the team with sports shirts bearing the flag of Palestine and the logo of the competition, Al-Aqsa Flood. Dr. Al-Maqaleh also confirmed his confidence in the victory of his Faculty team as the result of good preparation and proper equipment and the General Secretary of the Faculty of Dentistry reviewed his Faculty team in front of the University president. As a result of the results of today's qualifying matches, the Faculty of Computing team won the first place at the expense of Dentistry with a score of four-zero in the football match, and the Faculty of Computing was also crowned in the first place in the chess competition by student Amani Naji aA-Sarhani. While the Faculty of Dentistry took first place in the table tennis competition through student Emad Bajash Al-Mikhlafi, the Faculty of Dentistry team also topped the Faculty of Education team in the volleyball competition in which the Faculty of engineering team also won after the withdrawal of the rival team of the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, due to the coincidence of the date of the match with the date of exams for fourth-year students. In addition, the Faculty of Medicine achieved the second place in the table tennis competition through the student Abdullah Ahmed Al-Rwaisan, as well as the second and second places in the chess competition through the students Sarah Saeed Al-Bahlouli and Shaima Abdulrazzaq Al-Moualemi. The Faculties of Medical Sciences and Engineering won the third place, where Amt Alrhman Al-Radai from Medical Sciences won the third place in the chess competition, and Abdulrahman Al-Roaini in the table tennis competition from the Faculty of Engineering.
