The University Rector Inspects Obstetrics and Gynecology Exam for Sixth-Year Medical Students at Thamar University in Capital Hospitals

■ Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, inspected today the Obstetrics and Gynecology exam for sixth-year medical students, the 23rd cohort, for the 2025/2026 academic year. The exam is being held in several teaching hospitals in Sana'a.

During the visit, the University Rector, accompanied by Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Murtadha, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, reviewed the practical and clinical examinations for 135 students, which are being held at Al-Thawra General Hospital and Al-Sabeen Maternity and Child Hospital, as part of the requirements for the Obstetrics and Gynecology undergraduate course.

The University Rector listened to a briefing from the college leadership and exam administrators regarding the testing procedures, organizational structure, and the methods used to evaluate students in theoretical, practical, and clinical aspects, in accordance with the nature of medical education and the requirements of academic and professional qualification.

Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi emphasized the importance of practical and clinical training in preparing medical students, considering it a cornerstone in building a physician's professional competence. He commended the efforts of the college leadership and faculty members in overseeing the educational and examination process and enhancing students' practical skills.

From his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine explained that conducting the exams in teaching hospitals is part of the commitment to linking theoretical knowledge with practical application and equipping students with the necessary skills and experience in various medical specialties.

The University Rector was accompanied on the visit by Professor Dr. Mohammed Aqabat, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Haifi, Ali Al-Bakhrani, the General Secretary of the Faculty of Medicine, and several members of the college's administrative staff.

This visit reflects Thamar University leadership's commitment to continuously monitoring the educational and examination processes across the university's various faculties.
