■ Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, the Faculty of Medicine and Al-Wihda University Teaching Hospital, in cooperation with the Student Forum, held a ceremony to welcome new students admitted for the academic year 1448, coinciding with the celebration of the Prophet's birth. The event was attended by a number of university and faculty leaders, faculty members, and students.
At the ceremony, Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector of the University for Student Affairs, delivered a speech in which he conveyed the greetings and congratulations of the University Rector to the new students. He emphasized the University's commitment to providing an academic and educational environment that contributes to the students' intellectual and moral development, fostering a sense of belonging and responsibility. He also discussed the significance of the Prophet's Birthday as a spiritual and educational occasion for drawing inspiration from the values of mercy, knowledge, and work, and instilling these values in university conduct.
From his part, the Associate Professor Dr. Abdullah Al-Murtada, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, welcomed the new students, expressing his pleasure at their joining the Faculty. He affirmed that studying medicine is a noble humanitarian mission that demands diligence, perseverance, discipline, and adherence to professional ethics. He urged the students to make the most of their years of study by pursuing academic excellence and serving the community.
Professor Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Miqdad, the General Director of Al-Wihda University Teaching Hospital and Vice Dean of the College for Hospital Affairs, delivered a speech highlighting the importance of integrating academic and practical training in preparing physicians. He emphasized the role of the teaching hospital in honing students' skills and providing them with practical training according to scientific and professional standards.
The event was attended by Dr. AbduIlah Al-Adhra'i, the Vice Dean of the College for Student Affairs, Ali Al-Bakhrani, the General Secretary of the College, as well as a number of college leaders, faculty members, and administrative staff.
The ceremony included recitations by the Al-Rasoul Al-Atham Ensemble, expressing the joy of commemorating the Prophet's birthday in a spiritual atmosphere that embodied love for the Prophet. The performances added a celebratory touch to the occasion, coinciding with the arrival of a new cohort of medical students who began their university studies in an environment that blends faith and academic pursuits.
