The Rector of Thamar University Inspects the Faculty of Dentistry and the University Dental Teaching Hospital

■ Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, inspected the Faculty of Dentistry today during a field visit. He reviewed the academic and service performance, as well as the educational and medical equipment at the university teaching hospital affiliated with the faculty.

He was received by the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Bashir Al-Tairi, and the General Secretary of the Faculty, Fahmi Al-Shami. The University Rector and his entourage toured the departments and clinics of the dental teaching hospital, observing the workflow and the therapeutic and surgical services provided to the public.

The University Rector commended the outstanding efforts of the faculty leadership, its academic and medical staff, and its students in providing free dental treatment and surgical services to the public. He emphasized that these efforts reflect the university's community mission and its role in linking academic education with public service.

Dr. Al-Haifi emphasized the university administration's commitment to supporting the College of Dentistry, developing its academic and practical programs, and upgrading its infrastructure and medical equipment. This support aims to improve the quality of education and training and enhance the level of healthcare services provided to the local community.

Similarly, the University Rector inspected the solar energy system recently installed at the college. This system is a part of the university's initiative to rely on clean and renewable energy sources, which will help meet the college's growing electricity needs.

During the visit, he reviewed the system's components and operational capabilities. The system includes 288 solar panels, each with a capacity of 700 watts, and 24 lithium batteries with a total storage capacity of 120 kilowatts. This system is designed to be sufficient to cover the operational needs of the College of Dentistry and the university's dental teaching hospital, ensuring the efficient and stable continuity of academic and service operations.
