The Rector of Thamar University Visits the College of Dentistry and Stresses the Preparation for the New Academic Year

■ As a part of his commitment to monitoring the educational process and enhancing academic environments, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, conducted an inspection visit to the College of Dentistry this morning.

The visit aimed to address key student and academic issues and discuss ways to elevate the college’s performance as a leading scientific institution in Yemen. 

During the field visit, accompanied by Vice-Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Abdul Kafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, and the University General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Hutram.

The Rector met with the Dean of the College of Dentistry Prof. Dr. Nashwan Al-Tairi and Postgraduate Vice Dean Dr. Mohammed Al-Samhari. They reviewed academic and student matters related to concluding the 1446 academic year and preparing for the new 1447 year. 

Attendees, including the college’s General Secretary, Mr. Hisham Al-Mahdi and academic administrative staff, discussed vital issues concerning the educational process. They emphasized adherence to the 1447 academic calendar to ensure teaching discipline and alignment of course timelines. 

The meeting also addressed the activation of a fingerprint attendance system for faculty and staff during lectures and office hours, as per approved schedules to enhance transparency and accountability. 

Additionally, university leadership reviewed mechanisms for announcing student results for the past academic year (1446 ), stressing the need to expedite their release in compliance with academic standards to safeguard student rights. 

The session also covered admission procedures, coordination and competitive exams for applicants to the College of Dentistry, one of Yemen’s most prestigious specialized colleges, attracting high demand from secondary school graduates. 

In closing, the University Rector commended the college’s leadership and staff for their efforts, praising the discipline and continuous improvements in academic performance.

He reaffirmed the university’s support for developmental steps that serve students and elevate higher education standards. From his part, the College Dean thanked the Rector and Vice-Rectors for the exceptional attention given to the College of Dentistry by the university’s leadership.
