The Institute of Continuing Education at Thamar University Launches Planting of 500 Fruit and Ornamental Trees

■ A large-scale tree-planting campaign was launched today at the Institute of Continuing Education at Thamar University. The campaign involved planting 500 fruit and ornamental trees around the Institute's administration building, reflecting a commitment to the environment and enhancing green spaces on campus.

During the launch, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, praised the initiative and the efforts of the Institute's leadership and students in implementing it. He emphasized the importance of such activities in fostering environmental awareness among students and encouraging their participation in preserving the university environment.

The University Rector explained that the campaign included planting various types of trees, most notably pomegranate, fig, and mulberry, as well as ornamental trees. He noted that such initiatives are among the activities that prestigious universities prioritize, given their impact on improving the university environment and fostering a spirit of initiative and responsibility among students.

The University Rector urged that the seedlings be numbered with the names of the participating students, so that each student would be responsible for caring for and nurturing their seedling until graduation. This would transform the tree-planting process into a sustainable educational experience that connects students to their university environment and reinforces their values ​​of responsibility and care for public facilities.

From his part, the Dean of the Institute of Continuing Education commended the university leadership and the institute's students for their active participation in the tree-planting campaign. He emphasized the importance of continuing such initiatives, which contribute to improving the university environment and enhancing student participation in community and environmental activities.

The inauguration was attended by Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector of the University for Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Adel Al-Ansi, the Vice-Rector of the University for Academic Affairs,Professor Dr. Essam Wasel, the Rector's Assistant for Centers Affairs, Professor Dr. Nabil Al-Makhlafi, the Dean of the Institute of Continuing Education, his deputy for Student Affairs, Dr. Salah Al-Qousi, as well as the University General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Hutrum, the Institute General Secretary, Mohammed Al-Badawi, a number of academic and administrative leaders, student forum leaders and members, and dozens of institute students.
